Gledhill StainlessLite Plus Heat Pump

Description

Gledhill has produced an unvented stainless steel unit specifically for heat pump applications, delivering mains pressure domestic hot water. Based on the well-established Gledhill StainlessLite Plus unvented hot water cylinder, this product has been engineered to maximise the performance of heat pumps operating at lower temperatures.

The heat exchanger is a completely new design, consisting of a multi-pass corrugated stainless steel tube in parallel to reduce the pressure loss whilst maximising the heat transfer efficiency. Many medium to large heat pumps require heat exchangers in the store that can accommodate the higher flow rates associated with primary temperatures typically 50 or 60°C.

All the familiar features of the Gledhill StainlessLite Plus are retained, and the unit comes complete with all the necessary controls and expansion devices.

Since many heat pumps are unable to raise stored water temperatures to 60°C - the level required to prevent the growth of Legionella bacteria – the Gledhill StainlessLite Plus Heat Pump model includes an immersion heater tapping and a thermostat pocket.

It is recommended to install a thermostat that activates the immersion heater just below the heat pump maximum and switches off at 60 - 65°C. This approach minimises direct electricity usage, allowing the heat pump to provide most of the water heating.

In addition to the standard-size Gledhill range, Gledhill offers a Slimline version with an overall diameter of just 475m, ideal for retrofit situations where space is limited.
